Travelogue: Misty Cove, Massachusetts

Nikki Leigh Stormy View

Coming March 1

Wings ePress

In the words of Kennalyn…

"Misty Cove is located near Gloucester and Rockport, Massachusetts. This coastal area has a rich history of hard working and hard living people. Our people are fishermen. Commercial fishing is hard, dangerous work and requires separation from loved ones.

The ‘perfect storm’ hit the coast with great strength in the 1990's. But that's another story.  Storms hit this coast for centuries and led to a need for lighthouses and lifesaving stations. We have the twin lights of Thatcher Island and the Stormy View lighthouse at the tip of Misty Cove. My family members have tended the Stormy View light for generations."

Travelogue: The Bed and Breakfast Stage Coach Ride

Billie A Williams The Pink Lady Slipper

Wings ePress

The pungent aroma of towering pine and spruce, the alarmed cry of a blue jay, red bluffs rising mountain-like beside the trail greets visitors as the sway of the stage coach plods lazily from Sage, Michigan, to L’Anse, Skanee and Three Lakes on the first leg of The Pink Lady Slipper Bed & Breakfast trip into the past. .

In spring moose or deer fawn teeter on spindly legs, curious at the intrusion of the clip clop of the matched set of draft horses pulling your coach. A bear, wild turkey, life you never see in the city move aside to share their space as you pass.

Fall’s blaze of color; reds, yellows, orange and burnt sienna leaves of maple, oak and poplar trees, nervous squirrels chatter and skitter across the forest floor as pungent decay rises from the hooves of the horses cushioned steps disturbing the ground.

RS Authors’ Reviews

FOUR CUP REVIEW FOR A Love Past

"A Love Past is excellent writing at its finest," says reviewer, Cherokee, of Coffee Time Romance. "This story will absolutely touch the heart... Ms. Whitfield... is a gifted writer and it speaks in this story." Reviewed by Cherokee at Coffee Time Romance

FOUR BEACON REVIEW FOR Widows Walk

"I could just picture the sea gulls dipping onto the water as the fishing boats came ashore in the quaint town of Misty Cove. … Widow’s Walk, was a pleasurable journey. I welcomed the balance of despair and delight in the young woman’s life." Reviewed by C.C. at Lighthouse Literary Reviews

FIVE ANGEL RECOMMENDATION FOR The Bed and Breakfast Murders.

"The Bed and Breakfast Murders is dynamic, spellbinding, and edge of your seat entertainment at its best. Each time I thought I knew who the killer was, something stirred the elements, making the plot thicken and jumping toward another character. The plot is definitely thick and the reader cannot help but be baffled until the dramatic conclusion." Reviewed by Linda L. at Fallen Angel Reviews

FOUR AND A HALF BEACONS FOR Past Imperfect

"I loved the no nonsense reporter’s voice used to tell this gripping tale of suspense, intrigue and murder…. This is one of the best suspense novels I’ve read recently." Reviewed by JoEllen at Lighthouse Literary Reviews.

FIVE STARS FOR Lost Son of Ireland

"Ms. Nelson takes you on a wild ride with Kellach, Bruic, and the other characters in this wonderful story of love, war, deception, and mystery. I fell in love with Bruic, and you will too. This is a story that will not let you go until you read that last page. And when that is done, you will want more." Reviewed by Sue Hartigan, All About Murder
