Heart & Soul - The Universe

The universe as far as the eye will go <g>

There are two main Sectors - the Outlaw Sector and the Lawful Sector.

There are also the outskirts of the Outlaw Sector, where bounty hunters and peacekeepers try to rule, but outlaws come and go. Those most wanted stay inside the Outlaw Sector.

The Lawful Sector is made up of hundreds of planets. Many of them come under the combined rule of the Intergalactic Peace Council, who meet and reside on the Intergalactic Peace Ship. The leaders come from different planets as representatives. The individual laws of planets are never intruded upon, but the main areas are governed by the IPC. Wars do not occur between planets covered by the IPC, and the IPC soldiers will always come to the aid of planets who need help - providing those planets come under the IPC.

The IPC can be severe in the punishments meted out to those who do not obey the basic laws of the IPC.

There are also the IPC Security Officers. Though working for the IPC, their destinations are secret, and they work within a secretive atmosphere. They appear in trouble spots in the Lawful Sector, often without the knowledge of civilians. They investigate traitors, security breaches, and other things of which we don't know. They come, fight and go without anyone even knowing there was a problem. The Security Officers are made up of men and women. The means to an end is sometimes a little...unorthodox <g>.

The Outlaw Sector is made up of hundreds of planets. The Inner Sanctum is home to the worst of the outlaws and space pirates, those who don't dare show even a whisker in the Lawful Sector. They use the lesser outlaws and pirates to raid for them.

Outlaw lords war for supremacy in some areas, and for land and power, and the use of and call for mercenaries is high.

The ruler of the Inner Santcum of the Outlaw Sector is The Overlord, an alien being of unknown origins and power. He's not always what he seems. His sorcerer dabbles with the Devil, so his link is unknown.

The outskirts of the Outlaw Sector have outlaws and space pirates also, but usually they are either petty criminals or know enough to keep a low profile, especially if they're planning something.

The bounty hunters and peacekeepers have a hard time controlling these areas.

Both the Lawful and Outlaw Sectors are populated by outlaws, space pirates, bounty hunters, warriors, traders, mercenaries, soldiers, witches, assassins, thieves, ordinary men and women making a living in the settlements, farmers, peacekeepers, medics, lizard-like beings...just about everyone and anything and whatever species you can think of (and some who haven't yet made an appearance).

Space travel is done by planet shuttles and assorted space crafts and fighters.

The settlements are sometimes more medieval in style, some rough, some high tech, according to the species and the progress of the planet - and the ideals of the settlers.

Weapons are laser guns, manblasters, knives, swords, daggers, boomers, smokies, whips - just about anything you can think of (and some that haven't yet appeared LOL).

This is the universe of my Heart & Soul series, where anything can happen, and anything will happen.
